The USA Rugby Men’s Junior All-Americans, captained by Ealing's Will Magie, the JAA's fly half playmaker, stormed back from a 0-21 deficit on Saturday (May 26) to take out Canada’s Under 20s 34-28 at Bear Mountain Stadium in Langford. The USA swept the two match series.
The touch rugby sessions kicked off in style last Wednesday evening with 30 people congregating in the paddock. Read on for a brief review and information about future sessions (next session: Wednesday 30 May).
During the recent Special General Meeting some prestigious awards were made by the Club to a number of long standing servants and volunteers in recongition of their efforts and support of the Club over many, many years.
At the Special General Meeting last Wednesday evening our new Executive Committee and also Non Executive Directors were elected to serve for the upcoming 2012/13 season. A canny blend of youth, old age, experience and new faces have been assembled to manage our club in the coming year.
I am pleased to announce that apart from Dinos Alexopoulos who is retiring all the players who featured in our first season in National 1 have all re-signed for season 2012/13. These include our five England Counties players.
2011/12 was an exciting season with us finishing second, scoring 1000 points in the league, getting some big results both home and away, having five players selected for the England Counties squad and also three selected to tour in June and Phil Chesters being selected for the Barbarians.
Building on the success of the senior club Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club has launched a new Academy focused on developing young players for the future.
The club are proud to say that three of our 1st XV players have been selected to tour with England Counties this year. Peter Hodgkinson, Phil Chesters and Tom Wheatcroft will travel to Uganda on their tour with games against a Uganda team, East Africa and an East Africa invitational XV.
Ealing Trailfinders Summer Rugby Camps 2012
The camps are a great opportunity for kids of all ages and abilities to boost their rugby skills and make new friends at the club.
On Thursday 15th March 15 rugby clubs across the country were named as the 2012 winners of the RFU President’s XV Awards, supported by QBE. The winning club in each of the 15 categories will receive £500, with two Runners Up projects in each category receiving £100 for their club.
Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club has been awarded one of the RFU's Prestigious Whole Club Seal of Approval certificates.
