The U8 section welcomes boys and girls 7 years of age as of 1
September who wish to be involved in a team sport with an
established rugby club. We train on a Sunday morning with
registration at 11.45 for a 12:00 start. Please note that
children must be under parent’s supervision at all times
The U8 section is the mini tag rugby level where players play
competitive tag rugby against other clubs. Throughout the year
we compete in local tournaments and within the Middlesex league.
We also take part in curtain raisers with Wasps, Quinns and
London Irish.
In the U8’s we try to give all the players an equal enjoyment
of rugby whilst not only just teaching them the basic skills of
the game but also the ethics as well. We welcome all players of
different standards with help from mums and dads who fancy a run
out on a Sunday.
We both encourage and rely on parents to become involved
whether they have played rugby or have no previous experience.
We rely on our more active parents joining in and helping run
our weekly sessions and helping our youngsters feel safe and
comfortable. As you become more involved your club will pay for
your attendance to RFU mini tag courses and coaches’ development
evenings throughout the year; or if you prefer, referee courses
or first aide courses. If none of these suit, don't worry
because we always have events where volunteers are needed
including festivals and tours where help is required to run
stalls, park cars, arrange social events and so on.
All our coaches, managers and committee members are parents and
unpaid volunteers.
We have an excellent club and it's solely down to its volunteers
We look forward to welcoming you to our club and joining in
with the rest of us to give our children an enjoyable and
fulfilling rugby experience.
