The U7s section is open to boys and girls aged 7 or under as of
1 September who wish to participate in a team sport at an
established rugby club. Sunday morning training starts at 12.00
with registration at 11.45. Please note that children must be
under parent’s supervision at all times.
The U7s is an exciting and challenging year as it marks the
transition from tag rugby for fun, to competitive tag against
other clubs. By the end of the season the U7s will have
competed in various local tournaments within the Middlesex
League as well as representing Ealing in the prestigious Etihad
Curtain Raiser Cup at the Harlequins home ground, The Stoop.
In
the U7’s we try to give all players of varying abilities a
chance at competitive play and currently enter A, B, C1 and C2
teams into tournaments wherever possible. As such they get the
opportunity to experience and enjoy the game fully and also
learn the ethics of good sportsmanship.
We encourage and also
rely on parents to become actively involved, irrespective of
whether they have rugby experience or not. All our coaches,
managers and committee members are parents and unpaid volunteers
and it is due to them that our Club continues to thrive. As
such, the Club pays for your attendance on RFU mini tag courses,
referee and first aid courses. If none of these appeal,
volunteers are always needed to run stalls at festivals, help
out in the Club Shop and arrange social events. There is
something for everyone.
We look forward to you joining the rest
of us on Sunday and seeing you and your children become part of
the Ealing team.
