"Sport for All" isn't just a hollow slogan for Ealing's U11s,
it is the very foundation for all that we attempt and
achieve. Last season saw our age group membership swell by more
than 20% yet we were still able to ensure that every one of our
registered players was given the opportunity to represent the
Club in a competitive fixture, (culminating at the Middlesex
Festival where we were able to enter four squads), whilst our
training rotation ensured that every player enjoyed access to
the diverse talents of the entire coaching team. We aim to be an
inclusive group enabling every player, irrespective of size,
shape, talent or experience to derive benefit from their time
with the Club and above all to enjoy their rugby.
Our Coaching Principles
Make training FUN
Keep the session MOVING
Utilise GAMES and
COMPETITION
Reward EFFORT, as well as achievement
ENCOURAGE
whatever is good
Our Rugby Principles
Keep Heads and Hands UP
Seek SPACE, not contact
Run from DEEP
to put PACE on the ball.
Remember, it's a TEAM game Work OFF the
ball too
Our Rugby Rules
Never ARGUE with the Referee or Coach
Do not DISRUPT training
sessions
Always RESPECT your opponent
Always SUPPORT your
team-mate..
Do not KICK the ball in a warm-up
Rugby was once famously misdescribed as ‘a thug’s game played
by gentlemen’ but on closer inspection it can be seen that rugby
encourages the development of essential core personal qualities
including control, self-discipline, respect, camaraderie and
bravery. At Ealing our U11 team will work to deliver rugby
tuition in a safe manner but more importantly we will place
considerable emphasis on personal development and on providing a
rugby education.
I sincerely hope to see you during the 2008/9 season.
