The Rugby Rats are the youngest age group in the club and at
this age it’s all about rugby related play.
Sessions are friendly and informal and new children are always
welcome to give the sessions a try before committing to club
membership. However all families must
register with the club prior to taking part.
Skills are taught through fun activities such as races and
catching and passing games.
The sessions are normally run by the Ealing Emeralds, but
this is the first chance for parents to become involved and many
a coaching and management career has started with this age
group.
When the Emeralds are away on fixtures, parents have to help
out and this is a great way to join in the fun and initiate
friendships that often last throughout player’s rugby careers at
Ealing.
All helper must be CRB checked and parents must remain with
their children at all times. Children must be
signed in and out at the start and the end of the sessions.
Please ensure your child is always warm enough and fit and
well enough to play. Participation is always
at the discretion of the coaches, who will not allow children to
play if they are cold or unwell.
Sessions run from 12:00 – 12:45 on Sundays (occasionally
running on to 13:00). They are normally held
in the paddock, but can be held elsewhere if the paddock is
unavailable. Please check pitch allocations
prior to the sessions. A pitch map will
normally be on display at the entrance to the clubhouse.
Suggestions, comments and feedback are always welcome so
please feel free to get in touch with any thoughts that you
might have.
