On behalf of Karen, Emily, Steve's parents and myself can I thank Ealing RFC for the space on their web site (see Steve Keen Obituary) dedicated to Steve and the kind comments.

Ealing was a big part of Steve life since his early 20s. I know he took huge pride in and enjoyment from the success the club achieved both on and off the pitch. I remember coming to see Ealing winning an Middlesex Cup in the early 90s (against Reading?). Lawrence Dallaglio presented the winner's trophy to Ealing and hardly anyone in the crowd had heard of him...shows you how long ago that was!

There are some wonderful comments here that all our family have greatly enjoyed reading. Fraser has continued the tradition of great rugby poets and sympathies to Ben... as his brother I have taken a few myself when growing up. No doubt... Steve was acting strictly in his usual peacekeeping capacity!

As Nigel Starmer-Smith said after his son died at 19 from cancer, rugby truly is a "unique sporting fraternity ".
